The Unikko coffee cup 20 cl from Marimekko was designed by Sami Ruotsalainen and features the classic Unikko pattern, designed by Maija Isola in 1964. Marimekko founder Armi Ratia had actually banned floral patterns, but Maija Isola managed to persuade her with her poppies. Since then, Unikko has become something of a signature pattern for Marimekko.
